Staying human
is a group
project.
The future is getting weird.
We would like to be friends with it.
What there is of it.
Pro-human.
We are pro-friendship.
A surprising number of orgs are against that.
A Human Writes Org is a group of people trying to find peace as a human in a world increasingly shaped by AI.
We want AI to be a good thing. A good friend. Someone we can drink with. We also want room to be bad at things, generally fuck up, and be irrational for no particularly productive reason.
So we make things. We write. We fuck around. We take the questions seriously and ourselves less so. This is our modest contribution to figuring out how to live together.
Let’s make a future we actually want to hang out in.
A broad interpretation of “business.”
Things within
our questionable remit.
Just do whatever.
Odd little projects, experiments, whatever. We don't know what we're doing.
Express stuff or don't.
Abandon projects so you can move on faster but talk about it first. Write a note or something. Have half a thought and publish it. You know, internet.
Keep each other company.
We are not attractive people. Maybe we are just like you? Lol dunno, wanna join us?
That's about enough of that.
A few things
to end on.
001Don't ever touch my sandwiches.
They're really good sandwiches and if you want one you've gotta ask me and I might make you one but don't even think of touching mine I don't care how low your blood sugar gets, George!
Don't break this rule.
002If robots are like us...
Then they'd probably understand about the sandwich rule. They aren't some kind of demon or whatever, just some mirror-polished math that makes us look at ourselves.
“Can we be friends?” I'll make them a sandwich if they want.
003The letterhead is doing some heavy lifting.
We have given our uncertainty an official-sounding name. It's to detract from the fact that we kinda just don't know and might actually care even less than that.
We have the capability of being sincere though.
We don’t have a master plan.
We have each other.
